Your binders, watchlist, and preferences live in your own browser's local storage — they never reach our servers unless you explicitly share or sign up. For traffic measurement we use Vercel Analytics plus our own first-party counters, both strictly aggregate — daily totals of page views and referring sites, never individual browsing records, and no advertising cookies. The one exception: using the card scanner records a network identifier for daily rate limiting, kept at most 30 days.

Photos you scan are sent to Anthropic's API to read the card and are not stored by us or used for anything else. We keep a scan log (when, which card matched, and a network identifier or your account id for rate limiting) for up to 30 days.

We store:

• Your username and chosen avatar — these are your public identity on profiles, friends lists, and binders you make visible.
• Your email address — used only to sign you in and recover your password. It is never displayed publicly, never shown to other members, and never sold or shared for marketing.
• Your password — stored only as a cryptographic hash via our authentication library. We cannot see it, and neither can anyone who reads the database.
• Your binders and social activity — binder contents and customization, per-binder visibility choices (public / friends only / private, enforced on our servers), friendships, and hearts.
• Session security data — signed-in sessions record an IP address and browser identifier so suspicious activity can be detected. Sessions expire automatically.

One essential cookie keeps you signed in. That's it — no advertising cookies, no third-party trackers. Theme and binder preferences are stored in your browser's local storage, not cookies.

Creating a binder share link stores that snapshot on our servers under an unguessable address; anyone you give the link to can view it. Card Show submissions store the name, contact email, and eBay username you provide so we can review and feature the binder. Card Show click counts are anonymous per-card tallies — they are not tied to who clicked.

We run on a small set of infrastructure providers acting on our instructions: Vercel (hosting and analytics), Neon (database), Resend (transactional email such as password resets), and Anthropic (reading card photos you scan). The newsletter list is stored and sent through Resend, with an unsubscribe link in every issue. Outbound shopping links go to TCGplayer, eBay, or Amazon — once you're on their sites, their policies apply.

You can see and change your account data in Settings. To delete your account and its data, or to ask anything about this policy, email privacy@grailgauge.gg from the address on the account and we'll handle it promptly. Share snapshots can be removed on request by the person who created them.

GrailGauge is not directed at children under 13, and accounts may not be created by anyone under 13.

If our data practices change, this page changes with them, with a new effective date at the top.

Keep your password to yourself; you're responsible for what happens under your sign-in. Usernames are first-come first-served, but names that impersonate people, companies, or GrailGauge itself may be reclaimed. You must be at least 13 to create an account.

Don't abuse the service: no bulk scraping of our data, no automated account creation, no attempts to access other people's private data, no harassment of other members, and no offensive usernames, binder names, or profile content. We may remove content or suspend accounts that cross these lines.

Your binders and arrangements are yours. By setting a binder to public or friends-only (or creating a share link), you give us permission to display it to exactly that audience — nothing broader. Set it private and it stays private.

Card Show booths are promotional placements and are labeled as such. All purchases happen on the seller's own marketplace (such as eBay) between you and the seller — GrailGauge is not a party to any transaction, doesn't handle payment or shipping, and can't mediate disputes. Some outbound links are affiliate links, disclosed where they appear.

The site and its data are provided as-is. We work hard on accuracy, but market data comes from third parties and can be wrong, delayed, or incomplete — see the disclaimers below. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability arising from your use of the site is limited to the amount you paid us to use it (which, today, is nothing).
